Why Love the Collapse?

Night on WordPressEvery new growth depends on the nourishment made by death—the decay of the form left behind by other consciousness that has now passed on to some alternative dimension beyond our familiar four. Every new structure is built upon the ruins of others that have collapsed before it. This goes for natural phenomena and the social orderings of humans.

Love life, then, and death will take care of itself. When you see something crumbling into dust, do not try to save it; just get out of its way with both your body and your mind. Then it will die more quickly and fully, and become the darkness in which new light glows; the soil in which new forms take life, and grow.

What is happening now in the American nation is less about decay than it is about collapse–the collapse of ego-dominated social structures and belief systems. It is a burning of low growth in the forest of transformation.

Such a collapse is not merely to be welcomed, but loved. Thus, our blog’s new title.

But blog is blog, and life is life. Let us not confuse or conflate the two. This is a time for fresh voices in the public forum, and it would be nice to see and hear those voices, rather than merely read them on a CRT.

No matter the form of transmission, however, our new voices must not be muted by fear. This goes for all of us: as citizens, we will have to insist on this point, because if the last six years have not shown us the terminal danger of giving in to fear–even to the point of making a cult of it–then they have shown us nothing. As I have mentioned numerous times here, there is no space for fear to live, either within or among us, anymore, because the worst that can happen–to our nation and to our planet–has already begun.
